Edith Cowan and University of Nairobi Collaboration

The University of Nairobi and Edith Cowan University, Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will enable both staff and students benefit from the exchange programs.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call to the University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, on July 2, 2018 at the Vice-Chancellors boardroom, Prof. Steve Chapman, Vice-Chancellor, Edith Cowan University observed that they are a research intensive university which prides itself in training nursing, education, science, engineering among other disciplines. “We are ready to explore links, learn from each other and engage in staff and student exchange programs”, he said.

Prof. Mbithi observed that the University of Nairobi would like a strong partnership. He said partnership,  is one of the strategic objectives of the University.  “We can collaborate on research, mentoring  post graduate students, technology and innovation which will empower all graduates to positively contribute towards development of their countries”, he said. 

Going forward the two institutions of higher learning will be working on strengthening student satisfaction, helping in organizing staff exchange programs and helping university staff get doctoral degrees.

The University of Nairobi enjoys global partnerships with the industry and premier institutions of higher education. So far, over 1,000 MoU have been signed and are active.
