Management appraises UoN Towers Construction Progress

The Executive Management Board today met the contractors of University of Nairobi Towers at the Vice-Chancellors Committee Room today, March, 15, 2015 to discuss the towers construction progress and to increase management briefs and communication.

 The construction of the towers is on course as scheduled and will be ready for use by the end of the year. According to the contractors, China Wu Yi, the project is now 72% complete and the ongoing finishing work is mainly cladding of the building, installation of electrical cables, construction of the pavement among others.

When completed the towers is supposed to host 5,000+ students, lecture theatres, staff offices, Senate Committee Room and Manu Chandaria Centre of Performing arts. The tower also has a helipad, for the VIP guests that will be visiting the University and want to avoid the traffic jam.

Those who accompanied the Vice-Chencellor were the 3 Deputies : Prof. Lucy Irungu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor ( Research, Production and Extension), Prof. Isaac Mbeche , Deputy Vice-Chancellor( Student Affairs), Prof. Henry Mutoro, Deputy Vice-Chancellor ( Academic Affairs) and acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor ( Administration and Finance).

Also present during the tour of the UoN Towers included Finance Officer, Mr. Michael Karue, Chief Internal Auditor Mr. Peter Igiria, Chief Security Officer Mr. Michael Wahome, Resident Architect Jarret Odwallo.
