A team from Kyambogo University, Uganda, is at the University of Nairobi (UoN) on a benchmarking exercise. The team’s major areas of benchmarking include the performance contracting process, management of finances and human resources, academic issues as well as quality assurance.
While welcoming the visitors to the University, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, said that UoN operates on within its strategic plan and the public sector reforms programme by the government. He noted that the University has streamlined its operations to offer quality services to its stakeholders.
The Vice-Chancellor, Kyambogo University, Prof. Eli Katunguka, said that the findings of the benchmarking exercise will be studied and tabled for implementation at the university. He noted that the university management intends to bring is some changes to the institution and this would be done gradually for effectiveness and acceptance by all stakeholders. The university was established in 2003.
The Ugandan team will meet and discuss pertinent issues with various heads of departments from UoN.
