The University of Nairobi has teamed up with the Standard Media Group to get a 360 degrees coverage for the upcoming Open Day that begins tomorrow, April, 28, to April, 30,2016.
Ms. Marene Anot, from the Standard Group noted that the Group will offer its various platforms to help the University get publicity.
Among the platforms to be provided by the Standard Group include: television, radio, print, online and social media. The media group also promised to give out 5 brand ambassadors and several skatters who will be in the Nairobi Central Business District to help the University create awareness of its various programs.
The total media package is valued at Kshs. 3.5 Million.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Henry Mutoro, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi welcomed the initiative saying that it will go a long way in helping the University get the much needed publicity.
Prof. Julius Ogen’go , the Director, Centre for Self Sponsored Students, (CESSP) noted that the publicity by the media house will assist in boosting student numbers and student enrolment.
On his part, Mr. Johnson Kinyua, Director, University Advancement, noted that henceforth the university will continue to partner with the Standard Group to showcase its various research endeavours. These research endeavours will be highlighted on print and broadcast media.
The University of Nairobi has a mandate to create partnerships and linkages with industry as it gears towards world class status.
