University seeks to strengthen collaboration with India High Commission.

Indian High Commission with University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi

The Indian delegation led by the High Commissioner of India Ms. Suchitra Dura has pledged to support Nairobi Innovation Week even as they strengthen their ties with the University of Nairobi. 

Speaking during the courtesy call, Ms. Suchitra Dura noted that it would be good to have the Prime Minister of India, H. E. Narendra Damodardas Modi give a public lecture at the University on the subject of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. 

On his part the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi requested the support of the Indian High Commision towards the Nairobi Innovation Week.  The Nairobi Innovation Week will be held in August, 2016 and plans are underway to get sponsors and key speakers for the event.

Among other things discussed include: the forthcoming International Yoga Day and the visit by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Damodardas Modi who is expected to give a public lecture at the Taifa Hall.

Other dignitaries who have given public lectures at the Taifa Hall include: President Barack Obama as Illinois Senator, Senator Hillary Clinton, German Chancellor Angela Markel, Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi among others.

University of Nairobi has a mandate to create collaborations, linkages and develop partnership with industry.
