FKE Training University of Nairobi Senior Administrators

The Federation of Kenya Employers, FKE, have trained Senior Administrators from the University of Nairobi on labour laws.

The two days training was conducted at the Central Catering Unit from September, 15-16, 2016. The objective of the training is for the Administrators was to get insights on key provisions of the Labour Laws, improvement of personal effectiveness at work, enhancement of the job performance and competence enhancement for the PC target for the year 2016/17. 

Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi urged the Administrators to play a key role in the University. He urged them to be conversant with the labour laws which they should use to measure their performance and the performance of those below them in organizational structure.

“It is my expectation that as key players in the realization of the University’s strategy, you know what that strategy is.  To this end, I expect all administrators to be conversant with the University’s mandate, Vision, Mission and Core Values.  Further, you are expected to learn and internalize the University’s current strategic objectives, “he said.  Prof. Mbithi as well urged the Administrators to work as a team to enhance the University’s brand image.

The Administrators were trained on other aspects of leadership and management like; conflict resolution, and given tips on how to create synergistic teams.

The training of Senior Administrators from all the six colleges of the University was facilitated by the Registrar, Administration, Mr. G. P. Mbugua and Mr. Lawrence Mulota, Ag. Deputy Registrar.
