Nairobi International Trade Fair 2016

The University of Nairobi has remained a force to reckon with and it displayed its best innovations at the Nairobi International Trade Fair, 2016.  

The University of Nairobi  won 6 awards at this year’s Trade fair. Position 1 in the stand that best interprets current show theme, the best stand in research and development and the best institution of higher learning in developing and advanced technology.

Position 2 in three categories, the Best University stand, The best stand embracing Information Technology and Communication System and the best Engineering base institution of higher learning.

The 7-day annual Nairobi International Trade Fair 2016 kicked off on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Jamuhuri grounds. The theme for this year is ‘Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security and National Growth.’

The projects displayed have been drawn from all the 6 colleges and central department units in line with the theme.

Among the projects displayed at the UoN stand is the phototherapy unit that helps treat jaundice in new born babies; sign language speech translation glove, infra-red maize sorting machine that is used to help identify and sort out deadly aflatoxin maize from clean maize.

H.E. Hon Uhuru Kenyatta officially opened the Nairobi International Trade Fair 2016 and presented the awards to the University of Nairobi on Wednesday October 5, 2016.
