The University of Nairobi and People’s Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) are working on a joint collaboration that we will see the two institutions benefit from joint research, student and staff exchange programs.
Speaking during the visit, Prof. Efremova Larisa Ivanovna, Vice-Rector on international academic mobility, noted that PFUR aims to have a strong connection with the African continent. She expressed the desire to have a joint human sciences program with the University of Nairobi.
Students who wish to study in Russia have an option to study in English or study the Russian language for one year and get s a scholarship.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, Prof. Peter Mbithi , supported the idea of the two universities working together on various research endevours. “We have the best researchers around,” said the Vice-Chancellor.
It was agreed that the two universities will develop a joint Memorandum of Understanding that will be signed and implemented as soon as possible.
