Book presentation to the Vice-Chancellor

University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, was presenteda book on 100 years of Anglican Church in Kenya.

The book entitled “All Saints Cathedral Church Nairobi Centenary 1917-2017”, was presented to the Vice-Chancellor by the author, Prof. Gilbert Ogutu, Associate Professor, from the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy, Faculty of Arts on January, 15, 2017.

Speaking when he presented the book to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ogutu , observed that the success of the book goes a long way in improving the University visibility and putting Kenya on the global map. After presenting the book to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ogutu is also looking forward to present the book to other dignitaries among them; President Uhuru Kenya, Archbishop of Anglican Canterbury and the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth.

The Vice-Chancellor, congratulated Prof. Ogutu on authoring the book in a record 7 months. He noted that the book goes a long way in accomplishing the philosophy of the university i.e service and humility. Prof. Mbithi observed that the university is endowed with many scholars that have rendered service to the people of Kenya in many sectors from agriculture to healthcare to environment.

Prof. Henry Mutoro, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, congratulated Prof. Gilbert Ogutu for a job well done that will propel the University to global prominence.

Also present during the presentation were; Prof. Peter Wasamba, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Prof. Jamah, Deputy Principal, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, among others staff members from the Department of Religious Studies.
