Embu County Mango juice processing plant.

University of Nairobi researchers have partnered with Rockefeller foundation to set up a mango juice processing plant and a storage facility in Embu County that will go a long way in helping farmers deal with the post-harvest loses in the area. The University team was led by Prof. Stephen Kiamba, Principal, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, who represented the University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi.

The factory among other things will also be used to increase the shelf life of other farm produce like bananas, kales among others.

Embu Governor, H. E. Martin Wambora observed that they will work hand in hand with the farmers to ensure that the agri-processing plant gets 3-point power.
