The University of Nairobi (UoN) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama commissioned the Dr.Hudson Alumera Memorial Consultant Clinic on 31st January, 2022.

This is a state-of-the-art Dental clinic equipped by the UoN alumni and the staff from the Department of Dental Sciences. The facility will be used to train post-graduate students from the department to sharpen and enhance their skills in dentistry.

Later on, Prof. Kiama met with teaching and non-teaching staff from the Departments of Dental Sciences and Pharmacy respectively.

The meeting was organized by the acting Dean Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Eveline Wagaiyu to give the Vice-Chancellor a platform to engage the members of staff and listen to their views on ways to support the VCs vision for the University. 

The Vice Chancellor is Cognisant of the fact that staff and student welfare is critical in achieving the overall success of the University. That is the reason why People focused reforms is anchored in the Vice-Chancellors 5 Point Reform Agenda. These engagements with the staff are aimed at bringing on board everyone to take part in the ongoing reforms.

The VC also took the opportunity to enumerate gains realized since the journey of transforming the University into a more relevant, vibrant, and sustainable University started. He called for the need to nurture the University by taking care of the available resources sustainably.
