University of Nairobi was ranked position 1 overall out of 8 major Universities in Eastern and Southern Africa in the Collaborative Masters Programme in Agricultural and Applied Economics (CMAAE). This is an impressive achievement that underscores our vision: - A world class university committed to scholarly excellence. The achievement cements our regional dominance in providing quality university education and training that embodies the aspirations of the Kenyan people and the global community.

The CMAAE programme, coordinated by the African Economic Research Consortium, is implemented in

collaboration with 17 departments of Agricultural Economics of Public Universities in 13 countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. The students enroll in accredited university departments for the first two semesters to take core courses before the successful ones converge at the Shared Facility for Specialization and Electives (SFSE) at the University of Pretoria

With the exemplary performance of our students, UoN was ranked position 1 overall and scored an average of 75.5%. This is a repeat performance and ranking in 2017 when the University also produced the top three students at the SFSE.

In 2019 University of Nairobi also produced the second top student, Joyce Waithira Kamau.
