The University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama played host to a delegation from the Africa Engineering and Technology network (AFRETEC) on 22nd August, 2022.
The delegation led by Prof. Allen Robinson the Director of Carnegie Mellon University in Africa (CMU Africa) was at UoN to establish possible areas of collaboration.
Five universities make up AFRETEC, which is led by CMU-Africa and will, among other things, give its members a forum for intense collaboration that promotes equitable digital growth in Africa.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor took the delegation on a tour of the Virtual Classroom and UoN Skills Centre.
The delegation also visited the Sericulture Project being undertaken at UoN. The project is a partnership between UoN and Silk Origin Limited, a private company to generate the required knowledge and address the skills gap in mulberry farming and sericulture industry.
