The two Universities are working together to offer dual-degrees to postgraduate students. Recently, the University of Nairobi Senate approved the criteria for partnering universities that collaborate with UoN to jointly offer degrees to postgraduate students.
WSU and UoN have several areas of collaboration :
Doctoral student training
- D43 NIH PhD cohort – we have a joint UoN-WSU PhD cohort of 8 vets and medical doctors training on One-Health/Zoonoses.
- Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Animal Health PhD cohort of 8 – from multiple disciplines (economics, epidemiology, nutrition, anthropology, molecular biology, veterinary medicine).
- Additional PhD and Masters students at UoN in specific projects funded through research led by in-country WSU faculty and in collaboration with UoN faculty
- Hosting of WSU Faculty at UoN, including offering joint training courses (short-term modular courses)
