University of Nairobi Deepens International Ties with RMIT University
The University of Nairobi welcomed the Vice President of RMIT University, Prof. Colin Picker, for a high-level courtesy visit with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, on 21 May 2025. This meeting represents a significant milestone in strengthening academic and research ties between the two esteemed institutions.
During the meeting, the two universities signed a Collaboration Agreement aimed at fostering joint efforts in research, student & faculty exchange and international conferences. This strategic partnership will be anchored at the Faculty of Business and Management Science, laying a solid foundation for knowledge sharing and academic enrichment across borders.
The Vice President of RMIT University, Prof Picker, lauded the University of Nairobi for its commitment to academic excellence and expressed optimism about the opportunities the partnership will unlock for both students and faculty.
During her remarks, Prof. Hutchinson welcomed the partnership, describing it as a critical step in broadening the university’s global network and impact. “Such international collaborations are central to the university’s mission of becoming a globally competitive institution that transforms society through innovation and knowledge,” She emphasised.

Also present at the ceremony was the Australian Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Chris Ellinger, who commended the two institutions for fostering cross-continental academic collaboration and reaffirmed the Australian government’s support for such initiatives.
This partnership adds to the University of Nairobi's growing portfolio of international collaborations, positioning it as a hub for global research, academic excellence, and societal transformation.
