First Industrial Chair Launched Through Ecomobilus Partnership

The University of Nairobi signed a strategic partnership agreement with Ecomobilus Technologies on April 21, 2026, advancing industry-integrated education and research. The agreement, formalised at the Vice-Chancellor’s Boardroom, marked the official launch of the University’s first Industrial Chair under the Engineering and Science Complex (ESC) Communities of Excellence (CoEs).

The University of Nairobi has entered into a new international partnership with Northwestern State University (NSU), marking another milestone in its commitment to global collaboration in education and research. The Collaboration Agreement was formally signed at the University of Nairobi’s Main Campus by Vice Chancellor (Ag) Prof. Margaret Hutchinson and Dr. Simon Njeri, Assistant Professor at the School of Business, Northwestern State University, on October 27, 2025.

The University of Nairobi hosted a high-level delegation from France’s National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA) on October 2, 2025, for a courtesy call aimed at strengthening ties in digital science and technology.

The University of Nairobi received a delegation from the China University of Geosciences, Beijing (CUGB), a leading institution in China under the Ministry of Natural Resources, on September 23, 2025. The courtesy call was centred on possible collaboration in the field of Geosciences.

UoN Partners with Heidelberg Institute for Global Health to Advance Public Health Research and Education

The University of Nairobi has further strengthened its global partnerships by signing a groundbreaking collaboration agreement with the Heidelberg Institute for Global Health (HIGH). The agreement was signed on November 28, 2024, by the Vice Chancellor (Ag), Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, and HIGH Director, Prof. Dr Till Bärnighausen. The signing marked a significant milestone in fostering joint initiatives in public health.
