Vice Chancellor (Ag) presides over the 72nd Graduation Ceremony

The University of Nairobi marked yet another milestone on December 13, 2024, as it held its 72nd Graduation Ceremony, presided over by the Vice Chancellor (Ag), Prof. Margaret Hutchinson. This event, held at the university's iconic Chancellor’s Court, celebrated the achievements of 4,583 students across various disciplines. This was Prof. Hutchinson's second graduation ceremony as Acting Vice Chancellor, a role she continues to execute with remarkable dedication and leadership.

In her keynote address, Prof. Hutchinson congratulated the graduating class, lauding their resilience and commitment, particularly in navigating the challenges of recent years. “Today, we celebrate not only your academic accomplishments but also your determination, innovation, and adaptability in an ever-changing world,” she remarked. She further urged the graduates to be torchbearers of the university’s legacy, emphasizing the importance of ethical leadership, creativity, and a lifelong commitment to learning.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished panel of guests, including government officials, industry leaders, members of the university council, faculty, and families of the graduates. The event featured the awarding of degrees and diplomas across a wide array of disciplines. Special recognition was given to doctoral candidates and top-performing students, whose achievements underscored the university’s commitment to excellence.
