The University of Nairobi and Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) signed a partnership agreement to scale adaptation efforts in Africa.

The signed partnership aims to support a robust pipeline of investments for resilient infrastructure in Kenya, to unlock climate finance, create green adaptation jobs and to support Kenyan entrepreneurs for scaling up sustainable adaptation business.

The agreement was signed by UoN Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama and GCA CEO Prof. Patrick Verkooijen and witnessed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Hon. Keriako Tobiko in an event that was held at Taifa Hall on 7th July, 2022.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was awarded the Global Champion for Adaptation Action in Africa during the event.
