UoN and Washington State University develop a roadmap for impactful collaboration

The University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama met and held fruitful discussions with Prof. Kirk Schulz, the 11th president of Washington State University and a tenured professor in the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering. Prof Schultz visited the University of Nairobi to discuss and explore potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions and how to strengthen the existing networks and linkages

The University of Nairobi has been registered as a Data controller and Data processor

In December 2021, the University of Nairobi launched its state-of-the-art data center at the ICT Center. From this, several gains have been made and most recently, on 30th January 2023, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner registered UoN as a Data Processor and Controller under the Data Protection Act 2019. This is a major milestone jointly achieved by our legal and ICT teams.

Embu County Government collaborates with UoN for strategic partnership

UoN Vice Chancellor held a meeting with the Governor for Embu County, Her Excellency Hon. Cecilly Mbarire. The two leaders explored areas of collaboration between Embu County and the University of Nairobi. The University of Nairobi will support the county in development of the County Integrated Development plan, Spatial Plan, Human Resource among others.

Courtesy call by Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Kenya

The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Kenya and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Nairobi H.E Gabriela Martinic paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama on 12th September, 2022.

 During their discussions, H.E. Martinic said the government of Argentina is ready to works with the University of Nairobi to foster collaboration as far as teaching and research is concerned.

Induction workshop for Deans and Associate Deans

The University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama led the management in an induction workshop for the newly elected Faculty Deans and appointed Associate Deans for the Faculties.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated the Deans on their election and appointment saying he looks forward to working with them for the betterment of the university.

During the workshop, the Vice Chancellor delivered a keynote address titled: People reforms for a relevant, vibrant and sustainable University.
