On Thursday, March 2, 2023, Her Excellency Pastor Dorcas Gachagua visited the University of Nairobi and gave a Public Lecture on Boy-child mentorship. The University of Nairobi has been registered as a Data controller and Data processor under the Data Protection Act, 2019. This is a major milestone. Thanks to the ICT team and legal office.
In December 2021, the University of Nairobi launched its state-of-the-art data center at the ICT Center. From this, several gains have been made and most recently, on 30th January 2023, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner registered UoN as a Data Processor and Controller under the Data Protection Act 2019. This is a major milestone jointly achieved by our legal and ICT teams.
The University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama met and held fruitful discussions with Prof. Kirk Schulz, the 11th president of Washington State University and a tenured professor in the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering. Prof Schultz visited the University of Nairobi to discuss and explore potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions and how to strengthen the existing networks and linkages
