    UoN and inABLE Partner to Empower Visually Impaired Students

    In a remarkable step toward inclusivity and empowerment, the University of Nairobi’s Faculty of Law held a handover ceremony for 10 programmed MacBooks to its visually impaired students. This significant event held at the Parklands Campus on January 30, 2025, marked a collaborative effort between the University of Nairobi and inABLE-Kenya, a non-profit organisation based in Kenya and the United States that uses computer-assisted technology to empower blind and visually impaired students in Africa.

    UoN to Establish Nyandarua University College as CUE Evaluation Commences

    The Vice Chancellor (Ag) of the University of Nairobi, Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, visited the upcoming Nyandarua University College, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, to support the commencement of its technical evaluation by the Commission for University Education (CUE). The evaluation process marks a critical step toward the institution receiving a Letter of Interim Authority, which will allow it to start offering degree programs and becoming a constituent college of the University of Nairobi.

    The University of Nairobi marked yet another milestone on December 13, 2024, as it held its 72nd Graduation Ceremony, presided over by the Vice Chancellor (Ag), Prof. Margaret Hutchinson. This event, held at the university's iconic Chancellor’s Court, celebrated the achievements of 4,583 students across various disciplines. This was Prof. Hutchinson's second graduation ceremony as Acting Vice Chancellor, a role she continues to execute with remarkable dedication and leadership.

    The University of Nairobi has further strengthened its global partnerships by signing a groundbreaking collaboration agreement with the Heidelberg Institute for Global Health (HIGH). The agreement was signed on November 28, 2024, by the Vice Chancellor (Ag), Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, and HIGH Director, Prof. Dr Till Bärnighausen. The signing marked a significant milestone in fostering joint initiatives in public health.

    Vice Chancellor(Ag) Participates in Key Kenya Innovation Week 2024 Event

    The Vice Chancellor (Ag) Prof Margaret Hutchinson, played a pivotal role at the 5th Session of the Entrepreneurial Leaders Training Program (ELTP) at the Kenya Innovation Week 2024-Africa breakfast meeting, on November 26, 2024. The session held at Edge Convention Centre, was a gathering of Vice Chancellors from the Network of Innovative Universities (NIU) and other critical stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.
