On 10th May 2022, a delegation from PATH made a courtesy visit to the University of Nairobi (UoN) Vice Chancellor Professor Stephen Kiama and officially signed an agreement for collaboration on issues of Maternal health and child health. The Collaborative Agreement will provide a legal framework to advance the cooperation from a Principal Investigator (PI) level to a University level.
On April 6, 2022, His Excellency Silvio Albuquerque, the Ambassador of Brazil to Kenya, made a courtesy visit to the University of Nairobi (UoN) Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Kiama. On his first visit to the University, the ambassador noted that he has represented Brazil in Kenya since September 2021.

On April 4, 2022, the Vice Chancellor officially launched the Advancing Public Health Research in Eastern Africa through Data Science Training (APHREA-DST) project at the University of Nairobi (UoN) in the presence of UoN management, stakeholders, academicians, and researchers. The event was held at the University of Nairobi Towers in Nairobi, Kenya.
Melvine Thogo is the new Chairperson of the University of Nairobi Students Association (UNSA).
The third-year law student, who is the outgoing secretary-general for UNSA Parklands Campus, becomes the second female in the institution to clinch the seat after Ann Mvurya, who was elected in 2019.
Thogo emerged victorious in the competitive race to succeed the outgoing chairperson, Eddie Mwendwa Mutua, for the 2022-2023 period.

The Ambassador of Denmark to Kenya H.E. Ole Thonke visited the University to participate in the Engineering students conference. In his keynote address at the conference, Thonke noted that the job market has a huge demand for forward-thinking engineers who offer sustainable solutions that do not create more problems but actually offer solutions.
Later after the conference, the ambassador made a courtesy visit to the UoN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama where he shared with him his relationship with UoN students as intern in Kenya in late 90’s.
Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi Vice-chancellor, Uganda Christian University visited UoN with senior officers from Uganda Christian University. They were keen to learn how the University of Nairobi has continued to excel in the continent and globally. Prof. Mushengyezi noted that the reforms carried out at the University have been impactful and are a critical way of overcoming challenges facing many institutions of higher learning in the region.
H.E. Luisa Fragoso Chargee d'Affairs Diplomatic Mission of Portugal in Nairobi made a courtesy visit to the University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama to bid farewell after spending about 5 years in Nairobi. The Portugal diplomatic mission has supported the training of Portuguese in the Languages and Linguistics department for several years. Louisa has nurtured the training with passion and dedication. Prof. Kiama wished her well in her new duty station.
